Allium cepa, prepared from the fresh bulb of Allium cepa (family Liliaceae), is a key homoeopathic medicine for upper respiratory tract affections, especially acute rhinitis, allergic coryza, and hay fever.
It is characterized by profuse, irritating nasal discharge with non-irritating tears, and symptoms that are worse in warm rooms and better in open air.

Acute Coryza & Allergic Rhinitis (Key Sphere)

• Profuse, watery, acrid nasal discharge causing burning of nose and upper lip
• Bland lacrimation (tears do not irritate)
• Frequent violent sneezing, especially on entering a warm room
• Symptoms worse in evening and indoors, better in open air
• Coryza from cold, damp weather or seasonal allergy
• Sensation of lump at root of nose

Hay Fever & Nasal Allergy

• Fluent coryza with itching, sneezing, and watery discharge
