Prepared from the fresh root of Dioscorea villosa, this medicine has a strong affinity for the abdominal viscera, liver–gallbladder system, and pelvic organs. It is especially indicated in severe colic with radiating pains, characteristically better by standing erect and worse by bending forward or lying down.
